Dr. Donna L. Hight joined the Board in 2023. She is the Assistant Dean, Student Success, for The Ohio State University at Mansfield, where she serves on the university’s senior administration team and provides leadership and strategic oversite for enrollment, retention, and student affairs. She has broad leadership responsibility for university operations affecting students inside and outside the classroom. Donna supervises two shared areas–student engagement and recreation which serve both students at Ohio State Mansfield and North Central State College (OH), a public two-year community-based educational institution serving residents of North Central Ohio.

 Donna came to Ohio State Mansfield from the University of Georgia where she received her Ph.D. in Counseling and Student Personnel Services. Prior to returning to get her degree at the University of Georgia, she served at the University of South Carolina as the Associate Director, Pre-Professional Advising; Coordinator, Housing Safety and Student Judicial Programs; and Coordinator, Student Discipline and Development Programs.

 She completed her undergraduate studies in business administration at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; her master’s in counseling at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; and her doctorate in student affairs administration at the University of Georgia.

 Donna was awarded the first-ever Sam Ramirez Award at the third annual Love on a Mission gala. This award is given to a local adult who is generous with their resources and a member or ally of the LGBTQIA community. She serves on the Richland County Transportation Board, as well as the Richland County Task Force on Racism. She helps plan the annual community Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast and Program. She values the eighteen years she has spent in Mansfield and Richland County and give her time to support the community and the well-being of young people.
