Dear Heck/Leedy Family,

Some of you know me while others of you may not.  I was friends with the Heck family growing up, and came to know of the Leedy family while attending Lexington High School. Please allow me to start my extending my long overdue, sincerest condolences on your loss of Dani.  While I did not know her personally, it was apparent even with what little I knew of her what an extraordinary person she was.  The organization you have all put together to honor her memory is such a beautiful thing.

I began following 33 Forever at it’s inception and felt drawn to your organization’s mission.  Although I had experienced ups and downs throughout my life, it never occurred to me that I might be struggling with something greater.  But after months of reading your posts and hearing others’ testimonials on your site, I was compelled to reach out and get help.  With the support of my family and friends I began seeing a counselor and taking medication, and was ultimately diagnosed with unspecified anxiety and depression. I can’t begin to tell you what a blessing your organization has been to me and what a difference it has made in my life.

Thanks to 33 Forever I was finally able to recognize that I needed help and found the tools to guide me.  Most days now I am finally able to be the mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend that I want to be.  I truly don’t know if I would have found my way without you.  So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I can’t even begin to imagine the loss you are all experiencing, or the heaviness you must feel in your hearts, particularly in this first holiday season without Dani by your side.  But my hope is that all of you know that your loss has by no means been in vain.  Your family’s strength, perseverance and selflessness in helping others is so very inspirational.

May God bless your family, and may your hearts be filled with peace, joy and love.

Warmest Wishes,

Jess (Hire) Berry
